In the past 12 months, lemon water has changed my life. I was introduced to the concept at a conference and as soon as I started to apply my new found knowledge, everything about my health changed. Most of us are walking around all day completely dehydrated and don’t even know it. Did you know that by the time you are thirsty and have a dry mouth, you are already dehydrated?!
I start by pouring a jug of lemon water first thing in the morning and leave it out on the counter all day, refilling as I go. The water needs to be room temperature in order to be absorbed properly and have the best effect on the body. I also carry a water bottle filled with lemon slices with me everywhere and refill throughout the day.
What have been my results? Immediate weight loss was the first. Within 10 days of starting this new routine, I lost 5lbs without changing anything else about my diet and exercise. The weight continued to drop off as I continued to hydrate. Beyond the weight loss, turns out there are tons of other benefits to drinking lemon water all day long.

Lemon water has become my go to drink of choice for all these reasons. I drink 1 glass first thing in the morning before eating or drinking anything else. Almost immediately I feel a sense of awakening and energy that I used to think came from coffee. However with lemon water there’s no after coffee crash! I used to drink 4-6 cups of coffee a day and have since replaced all of them with lemon water. One of the best health decisions ever!
